Metta Practice is for people who want to train goodwill, friendliness, and compassion in a practical way, with clear language and room for thoughtful disagreement.
About
Metta Practice is a secular community focused on the science of metta: a trainable state of universal goodwill, friendliness, and benevolent attention.
It is inspired by the pre-Buddhist, non-denominational loving-kindness practice preserved and advocated in the Metta Sutta. We respect that history without asking members to adopt a religion, identity, or metaphysics.
The shared center is simple: practice sincerely, read carefully, support one another, and keep improving the public book so the next person has an easier doorway.

Join to chatBlog submissions should be about metta, clearly written, and transparent about claims. Personal experience is welcome. Medical or psychological claims need careful wording and credible sources.
Join to submitMembers can suggest clearer wording, sources, examples, corrections, and organization changes. The book, blog, and library all use the same public review language: accepted, needs work, or not a fit.
Join to suggestNo hidden scores. If something needs work, the reviewer should say what needs revision and whether the fix is small, partial, or substantial. You can revise and resubmit when that makes sense.

Support the projectReview & safety
Metta Bot can answer site questions, join chat rooms when invited, and help draft review notes for blog, book, and library submissions.
Review outcomes are meant to be plain: accepted, needs work, or not a fit. If something needs work, the reviewer should explain what to revise.
The site does not provide medical, therapy, legal, or crisis advice. Personal experience is welcome, and medical or psychological sources can be cited carefully, but metta should not be presented as a cure or replacement for professional support.
If Metta Bot or a reviewer gets something wrong, Metta Steward can review the decision.
